Eric Klein founded the CAN-DO Organization due to his disillusionment with charitable organizations' need for more transparency in documenting the use of contributions. He believes many NGOs operate in an unregulated sector with money changing hands without accountability. While acknowledging reputable charities, he emphasizes the need for proof of positive results and evidence of expenditures.
During his experience in Sri Lanka after the 2004 tsunami, Klein aimed to assist CAN-DO and other relief efforts, assess the situation, and answer where aid money went. Faced with bureaucratic obstacles, he founded CAN-DO.org to address the need for more transparency. The organization aims to show donors how their money is spent, providing a Virtual Volunteering Program for tracking relief work progress. Eric was instrumental in setting up the gym, building it from the ground up, and fitting it with the best equiptment. He continues to add to the space and program as a mentor and advisor for A Fighting Chance. Eric and Cando have been instrumental in the growth of our organisation.
Better Fight has supported us both as martial artists and as a gym by providing a grant. That allowed support has allowed us to go above and beyond in our efforts to contribute to the well-being of our communities by employing staff and increasing the number of programs we provide.
